Mr. Andy Emery
Andy joined the KGP team back in 2008. When we first met, he would razz me at functions about being a Nikon shooter and I didn’t really like that much. Despite the razzing, I kept an eye on his work. I was instantly impressed with his amazing landscapes he shot on trips every summer with his Pops. He also coveredĀ the Keller High School area sports world. His work always told a great story and once he second shot a wedding with me, I knew he’d be an awesome wedding photographer. All of his sports training gave him the fantabulous skills you need to be a great wedding photographer: quick to anticipate, great skills in low light situations (dark gyms are kin to dark churches!) and mostly his ability to tell a story and look for the sub plot. He quickly called me “KGP” instead of my actual name, which I somehow didn’t mind. “hey KGP” this and “hey KGP” that. Then, we took a trip to New Orleans for a conference and his street photography and videography work there blew me away (even if I made him nervous by wanting to go shoot in slightly dangerous parts of town at 2 am.) Andy is a thinker. He’s kinda quiet. Wildly gifted. Understands light better than most. While he doesn’t offer wedding video coverage, he’s been lead videographer on local commercials and makes his whole living on his photography and technical skills. Oh and he is a drummer, so he’s got rhythm, but don’t ask him to dance because I’m not sure if he can’t or just won’t.
